Carrick Rangers suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Glentoran in the Premiership on Saturday. Two first-half goals from J. Jenkins decided the match, leaving the visitors without a reply.
Jenkins opened the scoring after nine minutes and doubled the home side's advantage in the 26th minute. Glentoran manager Mick McDermott made five changes in the second half, introducing Daniels, Kelly, McMenamin, Gallagher, and Rogers-Duffy, but his team had already done enough to secure the points.
The result leaves Carrick Rangers eighth in the Premiership, with 10 points from their opening nine games. Their recent form shows one draw and four losses from their last five league outings, including consecutive defeats to Linfield and now Glentoran.
Next for Stuart King's side is a home fixture against sixth-placed Crusaders FC on October 3.
